Intalere's Supplier Program

GS1 Standards

Intalere’s Commitment to GS1

As a member of GS1, Intalere is a leader in implementing the GS1 standards for common location (GLN) and product (GTIN) identifiers with the goal of improving patient safety and driving costs out of the supply chain. Intalere is committed to the support of standards because these will build a more effective infrastructure that is essential to deliver both efficiency and effectiveness in the supply chain.

Successful, industry-wide adoption of the GS1 standards will require cooperation across the healthcare supply chain. That is why Intalere has proactively funded and obtained Global Location Numbers (GLNs) for our members. Intalere has been working with suppliers to implement the use of GLNs and Global Trade Item Numbers® (GTINs). Intalere also completed successful Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) pilot studies with the Department of Defense and GS1 Global and is a member of the GDSN Early Adoption Group.

Amerinet fully supports the adoption of GS1 standards by the industry-accepted "sunrise" date of December 31, 2010, for the GLN, which means that all Intalere suppliers are now required to report member sales participation with standard GLNs. For GTINs, the sunrise date is December 31, 2012, which means that Intalere now requires all successful contract bidders to provide GTINs on price files, and publish GTINs with industry required attributes to the GDSN.

In order to assist our members and suppliers with adopting GS1 standards, Intalere provides the following capabilities:

  • Consultative strategy planning
  • Data cleansing and normalization services
  • Assignment of member locations, and publication of member GLNs within the Intalere Roster
