In his role as Chief Financial Officer, Steve Schoch works closely with Intalere’s board and leadership team in their efforts to continually increase the company’s value to healthcare providers, guide its strategic direction and growth, and improve its operations.
Schoch leads the financial, accounting and supporting information systems of the company. His span of leadership encompasses the following: financial reporting, planning, budgeting and analysis; new business assessment and development; value creation; treasury; tax and compliance; facilities; legal; risk mitigation; and asset management. His focus is on identification and communication of financial drivers, data and analytics in order to support decision-making and resource allocation to achieve Intalere’s highest-impact priorities.
Previously, as Controller for Intalere, Schoch managed the company’s accounting operations, including the production of financial reports, maintenance of accounting records systems and coordination of audit activity. He was also responsible for maintaining a comprehensive set of controls and budget processes designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of financials and ensure that all processes complied with generally accepted accounting principles.
Schoch’s extensive accounting and finance experience spans more than 20 years. Prior to joining Intalere, Schoch was director, Global Accounting Operations for Savvis, where he played an integral role in an initiative to globalize general accounting functions within the company, which included the reorganization of the global team and the standardization of accounting processes. Previously, Schoch worked for Medicine Shoppe International in progressively challenging roles, including Vice President of Finance and Director of Operational Finance. He also led the Financial Planning and Reporting function for The May Department Stores Company and was an auditor at BKD in St. Louis.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri, Schoch pursued his accounting degree, earning an advanced certificate in accounting and an MBA from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA. Schoch was recognized with an MSCPA Distinguished Performance Certificate for receiving the fourth-highest score on the CPA exam in the state of Missouri. He is also certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
