Intalere to Present Webinar for Rural Providers on Avoiding Lost Revenue and Penalties Regarding Hospital Price Transparency Regulations
St. Louis (November 17, 2020) – Intalere, the healthcare industry leader in delivering solutions designed for improved financial, operational and clinical health for our partners, in collaboration with the National Rural Health Association (NRHA) Services Corporation, is presenting a webinar, Avoiding Lost Revenue and Penalties by Ensuring Full Compliance with Hospital Price Transparency, on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, 3-4 p.m. ET. You can register here.
“Starting January 1, 2021, each hospital operating in the United States will be required to provide clear, accessible pricing information online about the items and services they provide,” said Donna Showers, Solutions Sales Executive, Intalere. “This information will make it easier for consumers to shop and compare prices across hospitals and estimate the cost of care before going to the hospital.”
Specifically, every hospital must make viewable in a searchable, machine readable format, 300 “standard charges for all items and services,” for their patient consumers. If not in compliance, healthcare providers could be facing:
- A monetary penalty of $300 a day per facility.
- Potential denial of medicare payments.
- Possible damage to reputation by being listed publicly as non-compliant by CMS.
- Losing business to competitor hospitals that have complied with the mandate.
In the session, Showers and Chris Joiner of Intalere partner HealthRecon Connect will explain the details of the current rules and offer easily implementable strategies and tactics to make sure that your organization is in compliance. Specifically, they will examine:
- The Regulatory Law – What is it, what is required for compliance, what is the consequence of non-compliance?
- How will this impact your hospital’s relationship with the community you serve?
- Financial impact to your organization.
